This page is all about me me me. Oh, and welcome to my little blog. I'm Michele*, and I'll be your blogger while you're here.. hmmm, that sounds too much like a tour guide. I'm just not sure what all people would want to know about me, and although I do sometimes like to talk about myself, I don't want to bore anybody completely (just partially). You may have noticed that I like to use song titles for things, because that's just how I roll.
I'm pretty easy going, and I like to think I'm fairly nice most of the time. That's not to say that I can't be a raging meanie, but I do try not to be. That goal is made much easier by my partner, who shall be referred to as 'The Mate' from here on in. The Mate is a wonderful man, about 15 years older than I am, and disabled. I'm his fiancée, caretaker, and a constant thorn in his side. We spend most of our time at home, and that's in NW Pennsylvania.
We do have roommates though, if you count cats and dogs. We currently have 2 dogs and 6 cats, and pretty much all of them have some kind of hard luck story. If you were able to peek in past our blackout curtains, you'd likely see us in bed with a couple of the dogs, and several of the cats, unless we've somehow managed to get the bed to ourselves. Yeah, right.
My life pretty much revolves around The Mate, my kids, our animal friends, rescuing animals, and nail polish. Sure, other things are interesting, but those are the main ones. So, if you like to read about nail polish (and look at lots of pictures of it), then this blog might be enjoyable for you. I also have a blog about the other stuff, animal rescues and transports, and sometimes our home life, over at Original Wacky Blog. I do try to keep this blog mostly family friendly, or at least PG-13, but I can't guarantee that I'll never use a swear word or post something that isn't safe for work, so please, do read at your own discretion.
I can't think of anything else to say here, so I'll leave it at that, and let you go explore (or quickly close the window to avoid looking at my blog, whatever).
Ooh, I thought of more things to say. When I do swatches of nail polish (as opposed to a full manicure), here's how I go about it: I start with one coat on the pinky, two on the ring finger, three on the middle finger, and four on my index finger. I do not use base or top coat with them. Since I'm generally swatching at night, when I have some time to sit around, I take all of my pictures with my OTT light. Mostly it seems like the color comes out pretty accurate looking with that. Sometimes I add a flash shot as well. If it's a sheer polish, I will layer it over black on my thumb, and take a closer shot. Unless I say otherwise, it's always WNW Black Creme. That is my go-to black for layering because it's cheap, it's a one-coater (maybe two if I've thinned it too much), and it's a pretty true black. So now you know.
*My name is Lorelei, but I use my middle name more often than not, which is Michele. I'm also called Michy by a lot of folks. I will also answer to Wacky, both online, and IRL.
