Taking A Chance

I said I wasn't going to do this, because nobody gives a rat's ass about me and my blog besides family, but I'm gonna go for it anyway. This has nothing to do with nail polish (although I could talk about it if requested), and everything to do with everything being pretty much a huge wreck in my life right now.

In a nutshell, my husband died, I lost my job both my vehicles are broken, my house burnt, my psoriasis is flaring up horribly, I can't pay my bills, I'm about to lose my pets, and I'm just barely hanging on by the tips of my fingers to a really frayed rope that's about to give out.

You can click the following flyer to be taken to a page that has much more detail, and where you can find the fundraiser, and the various social media platforms I've started to try and get the word out there and see if I can get some help.

Above and beyond funds, if anybody has alternative ideas or can offer up some kind of non-financial support, I'm welcoming it all. I've tried to see if there was a way to barter for work on my Jeep (the van will require a new engine, so I'm not even trying for that, the Jeep just needs transmission work). I've applied for job after job after job (I'm really only limited to not working in food service, although anything with a lot of walking and standing is probably going to be sorta rough). I've asked everybody I know if they or any friends or family can take in my pets, or some of them while I get situated somehow. In short, I can't think of anything else to do.

Basically, I'm just begging for help, and I don't know where else to turn.

Cleo In A Contest!

I'm not sure why I didn't think of this before, but I entered Cleo into the Bissell MVP contest to try and win something for Grayson. Unfortunately, today is the last day, but maybe there is somehow a chance if enough people were to vote for her?  I guess it's worth a shot, so I'm posting this. And, I'll add a picture of my little darling cuddling up with me. It's hard to see, but she is wrapped into the blanket I have draped around me, with her head tucked into my neck/shoulder.
I love all our critters, and they each hold special places in my heart, but I must admit that Cleocatra is the one who gravitates to me the most out of all our cats. There pretty much isn't a day that goes by that she doesn't seek me out several times to solicit some cuddle time. How can you not love a kitty who does that? So, if you have a few moments to spare, could you please go vote for her?

"Emergency" transport and some of my pups!

Sometimes a rescued dog just doesn't work out, and has to go back from whence he came. This is one such situation, and we put together a transport in a few hours, in the opposite direction.

What The Dogs Loved About Christmas!

I think what they loved the most was getting to spend plenty of time outside playing. Since we had our pre-made dinner, I had plenty of time to head out with them. I wish there'd been more snow to play in (they do love it so), but it wasn't a big deal. I'd be more caught up on posts, but I seem to have been hit with some nasty germs, and am feeling pretty crappy. The Mate has his Esophageal Dilation tomorrow, and he has been scheduled for neck surgery on the 18th. So I'm going to be way busy over the next few weeks. Right now all I want is to be able to get more than 30 feet away from a bathroom. *sigh* Back to the dogs.  Take the leap and see how much fun they had.

Finally, Holiday Pictures!

I guess it's time for me to get my butt in gear and post the pictures from our lovely holiday dinner for two. We had a pretty low-key holiday, and it was wonderful in it's own way. I'd have gotten this up earlier, but I seem to have been struck with some kind of stomach bug and am feeling pretty rough. So take the leap, and check things out. There are LOTS of pictures to see.

Last of the Dog Beach Pics!

Are you relieved? Muahahaha! I've got tons more work to do, but I wanted to get these up for now, and later I can post more stuff. I've got to redo a section of my fence because the neighbors don't want the fence touching theirs or something, and I'm going to rearrange how it's set up. Then I've got to keep plugging away at laundry, work on the living room, and try to get ready to paint. Anyways, now that it's nice and cold, let's look at the last pictures I've got of Jupiter and Missy at the beach.

Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday

I put a fence up for a nice area for the dogs in the back yard. I'm awfully proud of it, even if it is a cruddy fence. Sure, I'll have to be out there with them, because they aren't trustworthy enough not to jump it, but not having to leash them to get them out is a huge thing for me.

I know a lot of people don't like winter, but I actually do. It's just that it also makes me more sore. But I love snow, and I'm ready for it. The rainy junk hurts me a lot more than steady cold and snow.

I still really wish I could get more people to vote for Grayson in the video contest. http://www.igive.com/videocontest/?vid=5 Seriously, the other places are using contests and such to get votes. It looks like some of them may even be submitting invalid votes. There are over 100 people in our yahoo group, we should be getting at least 100 votes a day! Not only that, but almost 400 people like it (via Facebook), and we're still in 5th and not gaining much at all? It kinda feels hopeless. I can't imagine what the volunteers are feeling, as hard as they work, and people won't even take the time to vote for something like this, so simple.

I lurve Bo, but we can't keep him. I really really want to find him an awesome place to go.

I can't wait to have a huge turkey all to ourselves. No fighting over the drumsticks!

What is it about 'Black Friday'? I absolutely HATE it and will do everything I can not to have to leave the house at all.I don't care how good the deals are.

Bo The Wonder Saint!

Okay, since I sorta blew off coming back to the blog (but I have a REALLY good reason!), I'm finally going to show off pictures of Bocephus, the lovely Saint Bernard that I'm fostering for a month. Plus, a few pictures of our dogs, and transport pictures. If you wanna know why it took so long, you'll have to click and read.

NOTDs to Peruse.

Just to keep you in suspense a little longer, here are some NOTD pics, from the beginning of November.

Bo is HUGE!

So let's look at some more beach pictures while I give him a few minutes to check things out before I start flashing pictures at him over and over. LOL

While I Catch Up, MOAR Beach Dogs!

I'm uploading and editing transport pictures, so while I get that done (in between the chores and such), how about a whole bunch more beach dog pictures? We really had a blast that day, and I went so totally camera happy. So let's get to the pretty pretty pictures!

More Beach Pics!

I'm just feeling like posting some more beach pictures to share with you. I had so much fun, and the dogs totally enjoyed themselves. I usually don't take a lot of pictures when I take the dogs out to get exercise and such, so when I do take the camera, I go a little bit overboard. Muahahaha! Enjoy!

Life Is A Beach!

And I mean that in the good way! As I may have mentioned, I took a WHOLE BUNCH of pictures of the dogs at the beach, and I'm going to share a few more today.

Being Spoiled ROCKS!

Well, no more boo hooing for me. Tee hee! The Mate knew I was bummed about my nails, and that I was drooling over the Model's Own polishes... and he told me to go ahead and get a few!! So, I went ahead and did it! I'm so so very excited to get my first polishes from them! I ordered Blue Sparkle, Disco Mix, Lemon Sherbet, Peacock Green, Mixed Up, Green Flash, and Lemon Meringue. Ohhh happy day! And that's on top of getting to order TWO of the MAC polishes!

Speaking of spoiled, I've always said I'd love to live life as one of our cats. Now they are a spoiled bunch of critters. And it's all worth it, especially since so many of them have had such a rough start in life. They are all doing pretty well, although I suspect Salem is having trouble with his teeth, so a vet visit is in order there. And Jet isn't quite as perky as he should be, and has a little lump on his head, so that will be seen soon. Missy broke a nail off short, but it's coming back quickly, and she's not limping, so I don't think she'll need to go in. On the topic of kitties, after the jump, there is a picture of Tess for your viewing pleasure, and much more randomness.

Good News / Bad News

Sometimes I hate hearing somebody say, "I've got good news and bad news." But when the good news outweighs the bad news, it's not so bad. So, here's my bad news: The Jeep has blown a head gasket. That's WAY more than $387 to fix. But, here's the good news. It's covered under warranty. On top of that, the rest of the damage has been determined to have been cause by the head gasket, so we aren't going to have to pay the $387 either! We'll only have to pay a $25 deductible, and we'll have our Jeep back in a few days (instead of today). This is excellent news, because I just checked my bills, and somehow I didn't pay the electric last month, so I need to pay double to catch up. Ooops.

Let's celebrate by enjoying a few pictures of the dogs.

Missy graduated!

Okay, so it was just Doggy Manners One, but it was still an accomplishment. I'm pretty capable of training my dogs myself, but having a professional trainer not only helps me key in on the best way to work with each dog, but also gives me an observer who can help me fix the little things I'm doing that make it all harder.

Goodbye is so hard to say.

I haven't been around the last couple of days, because on Monday, the decision was made to euthanize Jessie. It was a very hard decision, and it hurts a lot. However, the combination of events leading up to it made it important to go ahead.

Lil Bit's road to rescue.

My second transport yesterday was for one little puppy, an 8 month old Rat Terrier. She was an absolute doll, but her world was turned upside down on the trip, and she was really scared. In spite of that, she was a sweetheart, and I would guess that she is going to make somebody an awesome friend. So let's take a peek at Lil Bit.

Random update time.

This is a random post, so it's just full of different things. There's a link to a give-away, assorted thoughts, and whatever else enters my head. So take a peek if you'd like.

Just have to try a little longer.

We have decided that we just cannot take Missy back at this point. She isn't a bad dog in any way, and we are figuring out how to keep them separated so that she and Jessie can't fight. It'll be a lot more hassle for us to keep them completely apart, but it will give us more time to work on things, and so on. So, I'm about to embark on attaching the X-pen panels to the walls so that there will pretty much always be two barriers between them. I can live with hassles to keep a dog we love.
