I'm A Total Slacker

Yeah, I haven't been posting on the regular, but you're probably used to that from me by now. I'm not going to claim that I will suddenly be all posting every day, because chances are that I won't be, because I'm doing some more stuff around here and just not on my computer to edit pictures quite as much. Plus, I'm spending a bit more time reading as well, which takes up even more time. Still, I'm hoping I can get more motivated and figure out a good schedule.

Anyway, today I'm going to share with you yet another Cult Nails polish. Two of them, actually. I started with Nevermore, and then added Happy Ending over it, which was really a great name, because it totally was all happy making for me. But then I love me some glitter. Here's a sneak peek, of what it looks like with regular top coat and with matte top coat.

Friday Flashback - Halloween!

Like I said earlier, I'm sharing some past Halloween manicures with you today. As you can probably guess, there is lots of black and orange in today's post. Hee. Anyway, I'd better get this thing going, and then get to work on my chores. We really would like to get the new floors down before the end of the year, but the likelihood is that it will be sometime next spring before it happens. Hopefully not longer than that. So yeah, let's take a look.

My Second Polish Day!

I love joining in on stuff like this, so I'm glad to be back for my second Polish Day! The theme this time around is "Sentimental", and while it was hard to choose, I did find a polish that I was super extra excited to get my hands on. It's got one of the best names ever, Unicorn Puke! It was also released under a different name, but I really wanted the special ones labeled Unicorn Puke, and I got #255 of 275. Woohoo! So why don't we jump on in and see what is so special about this polish, besides the name and rarity?

Clouds and Mountains

Today I'm going to share an artsy mani that I did, trying to paint a picture of clouds and the moon around mountaintops. I didn't do too badly, but I can see what I need to change to do it better next time around. First, let's see the inspiration pics.

The moon. Not that I really needed a picture, but whatever, I had fun googling for images.

The clouds. I was going for the fluffy ones.

The mountain. I especially like the way the clouds are wrapped around the tip.

A Marble On Monday

Today I'm sharing with you a marble mani that I did with blue, black, and white. I'm late because after the perch fishing trip yesterday, I'm practically too sore to do much besides lay in bed! But it was so so worth it. We had a blast. So anyway, this marble is probably a good one to share while I'm thinking of the fun on the waves yesterday. Let's take a peek, shall we?

Mystery Monday

Well, I obviously went with skipping Sunday Swatches, but I'm back today. I've got several manis that I simply cannot remember which polishes they are, so I thought I'd do a bit of a picture dump with them for you to see. Then tomorrow I can get back on track with regular manis which I've kept better track of. Hee. Let's see what we've got.

Sunday Swatches (Quick and Dirty Style)

So I haven't had as much time for nail polish as I have in the past, in part because of all the life drama crud that's been going on, and in part because the stress from said life drama has caused my skin to really get insane so I'm a lot slower at things and it takes me much longer to do my chores. In fact, I've had to start giving up a bit on having a perfect house, and just get done what I can. That is probably part of the reason that I haven't been changing my polish daily like I normally would, if I can barely get my chores done without falling over in exhaustion, adding a manicure in there just isn't gonna happen. But please don't think I'm whining (much haha), life could always be worse, and in general I know things will get better if I just keep plugging away.

So this week I set out to do some swatches, and because I've been rearranging things, I didn't have my normal spot to do my swatching, and had to change things up a little (but my OTT light is working! YAY!). Then after I finally managed to get the swatching in, photobucket decided to be a pain my my rear and wouldn't let me upload the pictures for a day and a half! I thought about not having swatches this week at all, because my skin flaring up so much makes my cuticles look pretty awful, no matter how many times I rub all sorts of creams and oils into them. In the end, I decided that if you don't like my raggedy cuticles, then just don't look at my swatches, and we'll all be happier. After all, the whole 4-5 of you who read me all the time probably don't care about it, the others who read me sometimes are probably only interested in the pictures, and the rest of the world doesn't care one way or the other. And that's okay with me, because I'm not looking to be the next hugely famous nail blog, there are already way better ones than mine out there.

Anyway, I'm starting to babble, so let's move on to the important stuff - THE POLISH! I had a few BYS shades that I haven't tried yet, so I thought I'd give those a quick test to see how they look, and share them with you. Let's see what we've got!

Sunday Swatches

I've got some swatches for you, but I'm going to hurry through this, as it's pretty nice, and I want to get the dogs out a bunch today and run their tails off. The more tired I make them, the better. And I think we might try to go fishing too. Anyway, I've got a Borghese polish and some Icings to show you today. Let's get to it!

Playing With Magnets OR I'M BACK!

Okay, so I'm going to try to come back and start posting regularly again. It may not be a daily thing, but hopefully if I get started, I'll work my way back up to more frequency. Real quick, before I hop to come pictures - here's an overview of the last few months:

The kids were here, and we had a blast. It was fantastic to have them, and it royally sucks that they are back in SD again. We managed to get out to SD, so The Mate got to meet family, I got to see family I hadn't in years, and spend some time with my Dad. It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hard to leave! The Mate broke his nose, and got some other injuries, which has made him a bit more miserable than normal. But he is still pretty chipper all things considered. Puppies and kitties are all healthy for the most part, and spoiled as always. Fishing is still my new obsession, though it hasn't replaced nail polish to the point where I need to be changing things. Haha.

Well, enough about other stuff, let's look at some polish pictures. I'm loving how many magnetic polishes are available, although my budget for polish has been very limited of late. I haven't been deprived though, I've managed to pick up some local ones here and there. So let's take a peek at one I picked up a few months ago (Wow I really get to play catch up now!).

I'm On The Edge!

Or rather, the Edge (of Glory) is on me! Yes, I broke down and bought the Lippmann Edge of Glory set, for half price. Even so it's still a lot to spend on polishes, but I think it was well worth it. Let's just get right to the polish!

Paint It Black

So after leaving my first mani of the year on for several days while we enjoyed our newest family member and tried to remember to put 2012 on things instead of 2011, I wanted to go dark and gorgeous, and this polish filled the craving I was having. Let's just get right to the pictures, because that's what you want to see, right?

Almost Skipped Today's Post!

Since I'm all thinking about Jack and what's going on there, and what I can possibly do to help, I thought about passing over the challenge post, but I figured I'd go ahead and post it. One last post for the year... this one containing a few Christmas manis that I snuck in between the challenge ones. I didn't go as overboard as I have in the past, mostly because it's been a super busy year this year, and I had to hurry some of these. But I enjoyed them anyway, and wanted to share them with you.

I'm Earning My Stripes

In Black And White

Oooh, such an original post title! We're at the day 7 mark of the challenge, and today's nails are black and white.  Not a whole lot to say about that, is there? I'm all sorts of wired up and scattered today, I guess I'm just overflowing with holiday spirit or something. Hee. Plus we got something like 4 inches of snow, and it's all white and pretty (and it makes my bones hurty - yikes) outside. Anyway, let's take a peek at the nails.

I've seen other blogs do a fail on Fridays, so I thought I'd share one of mine today. And some random pictures just because. I was attempting to do a black and white water marble, and for some reason I just couldn't get it to marble well, and this post is here because of that. Hee.
