Real Quick - Revlon Spice It Up!

As I mentioned yesterday, it's the Oldest's birthday today, and he's in town, so we get to celebrate. That means I'll be skipping tomorrow's Sunday Swatches as well, since we hope to be out on the Perch Boat with Oldest and living it up on the lake.

I'd also like to share with you something I wish I'd have read earlier in the week! Viva La Nails is launching a polish line, and they are offering a 30% discount through tomorrow, Sunday the 30th on said nail polishes. It looks like they have a nice start on a good collection of colors, and they aren't terribly expensive at £3.95 each. I'm not going to be able to take advantage of this sale, but maybe you can! Just remember to use the code polish30 at checkout.

Anyway, today's color is Revlon Spice It Up, and it's a nice autumn type color. Gee, I've said so many times how I don't follow the seasons, and here I'm all about the autumn lately, right? Well, to be honest, these are all a month or two old, because I'm still playing catch-up. But it works out okay either way. Let's take a look, shall we?

Greens Are Great

After yellow, green is one of my favorite nail polish colors. Oh, who am I kidding? I pretty much just love them all. Even the so-called ugly colors can be fun. As I've said many times, I'm kinda obsessed, just a tiny bit. Anyway, I've got a couple greens to share today, so let's get to it.

Lame Title Goes Here

I just can't think of a title today, I guess I'm not all that creative. Sometimes that just happens. So why don't we look at a beautiful polish and pretend there was an awesome title up there?

Sunday Swatches - Revlon Scented Part Two

Last week I shared half of the Revlon Scented polishes with you, and today I have the rest of them. This is definitely a fun set of layering polishes for the most part, with a couple that I'd wear on their own. Why don't we just jump on in?

September Already?!

Wow, how the time does fly, amirite? I can't believe we've only got four months left in 2012. Or a little less than that to be here if you believe the whole Mayan calendar thing. I'm not going to worry about it, because it will either happen or it won't. I'm just going to live my life the best way I know how, and that's good enough for me.

Today is also the anniversary of the day I moved in with The Mate. Can you believe we've been living together for eleven years now? I'm more in love with him now than I was then, if that's possible. And I think it is. I'm certainly hoping for at least eleven more years, or eleventy billion more. Okay, I'll stop gushing about my guy, and get to the polish. Today I have an awesome green to share with you.

Cool Color, Bro

Although it's not fall yet, I do have some autumn type polishes, and I wear them when I want. I'm not one to follow the seasons when it comes to my nail polish. You're as likely to find me wearing neons in January and spring colors in October as any other time. I'd say I march to the beat of my own drums, but I am very much not musically inclined. My brother and son got all the musical talent in the family. Anyway, today I'm sharing a very autumn-like mani with you. Let's see what it is!

Sunday Swatches

Okay, I managed to snag the whole Revlon Scented collection, and I want to share swatches of them. I'm going to split this into two parts, so the rest of them will be featured here next Sunday. Let's take a peek at the ones I'm sharing today.

Fun Weekend Mani!

Yes, it's another adventure in layering with glitter and such! With a bonus yellow mani that I just love. Shall we get right to it?

Why I...

This is a nice writing prompt that I thought I'd try out. The idea is from SarahBee at MyOwnBeeswax. The premise is to finish the following thought: "Why I...". So it didn't take me long to think about a few things I could finish it with, and that leads us to the following post. But to make it fun, I'll include some polishes I haven't shown you yet. Let's jump right on in!

Supernatural!

No, it's not ghosts, but it is a mani inspired by the supernatural. I wanted to try to find something a little less common, so rather than go with ghosts or haunting kinds of things, I went with something that was way supernatural in the past, but is kinda known nowadays. I chose St. Elmo's Fire, and tried to make it look like it was against the night sky.

St. Elmo’s fire sometimes looks similar to lightning but it is a separate meteorological phenomenon. Although called “fire,” St. Elmo’s fire is a luminous plasma that can glow a bright blue or violet. It can also appear like an eerie fire burning at the top of tall, pointed structures like ship masts or aircraft wings. It has also been reported on leaves, grass, and tips of cattle horns during a stampede.

Unlike the thunderous boom which follows lightning, St. Elmo’s fire can be heard “singing” on an aircraft’s radio, a frying hiss or buzzing sound running up and down the musical scale. It is often as a precursor to a lightning strike.

Sailors would regard St. Elmo’s fire with religious awe, an omen of heavenly intervention. It was named after St. Erasmus of Formiae, the patron saint of sailors. It has been recorded over the centuries, starting with the ancient Greeks, Julius Caesar, Columbus and Magellan. After Benjamin Franklin’s lightning rod, the phenomenon was seen more on land, sparking fear as the ghostly blue flames inspired stories of spirits and hauntings.

If you'd like to read more about it, and see some pictures, then just click on this sentence. Then, I'd love it if you'd check out my interpretation of St. Elmo's Fire on my nails.

Let's End The Year With Xmas Manis!

One last post for the year... this one containing a few Christmas manis that I snuck in between the challenge ones. I didn't go as overboard as I have in the past, mostly because it's been a super busy year this year, and I had to hurry some of these. But I enjoyed them anyway, and wanted to share them with you.

Starry Starry Night (or Pink, Really)

No, not the Essie, I'm thinking of the song by Don MacLean. Which seems really random, but it isn't quite that rndom, as today's pink polish is Revlon's Starry Pink.

Let's see how it looks.

It's PEEEENK Day!

It's Wednesday, and y'all know what that means! I'm posting nice and early this time, because I can't sleep. Go figure. It could be worse though.

Let's see what polish I've got for this one!

Oh Noez!

My TV seems to have blown out the bulb or whatever, so we're TV-less in the bedroom. Not that it's a huge deal, it's mostly just background noise anyway. We'll probably move our bigger TV up from downstairs one of these days. Besides, even though it's horribly hot and humid lately, we've been doing lots of other stuff. That doesn't mean I've neglected my nails, though, so I'm here to post some more pictures!

Pink on Pink on Pink on Pink.

So as long as I was doing the peeeenk thing, I got just a touch carried away this week. I was just having too much fun! If I didn't think it would be too much, I'd probably have theme days for every day of the week and then some, but I can't commit to that many posts, because the whole life thing gets in the way. Hee. Anyway, let's see what kind of pink mani I managed for this Wednesday.

Wednesday Pink Mani Time!

Just a quick post again, and hopefully tonight I can drop back on and show off all my 4th of July manis. Whee! The work just never ends around here. If only I could get paid huge money for blogging, I'd be able to make 3 posts or more a day. Muahahaha! I'd probably make everybody insane with my ramblings though, so whatever. Anyways, let's take a look at my pink mani this Wednesday!

Time for PEEEEEENK!

Well, I've decided that even though I'm supposedly not a pink girl (but I find a lot of polish I love in pink, so I should just stop that), I'd better jump on this bandwagon, and start doing pink on Wednesdays.
So, if you like pink, then you'll want to go check out all the blogs that have joined in before me. Just click the image to head over there.

Crackle, Crinkle, Crumple... Whatever.

This post is all about the crackles. I did them for a whole week, because I was liking them a lot. Well, I still do, but I like a bunch of other stuff too. Okay, it's hard to find nail art that I *don't* like. So anyway, I'm just going to post these fast-like, and let the pictures speak for themselves. Okay, one layering mani too.

Many Manis!

Ooof! It's been a week already? Wow, I've just been sooo busy around here. First, there was the big trip. Then, I had to recover from the trip. As much fun as it was, it's tough to drive 18+ hours in less than two days. But so totally worth it! And this week the kids and I have been having a total blast, which will continue through the whole six weeks.

So, while I have a chance to kick back for a few minutes, I thought I'd post a whole bunch of manis for you to enjoy! This is another pic heavy post. The kids helped me choose some of the colors, which I like, because I get overloaded and can't decide sometimes. I need about 6 more hands so that I can just wear everything I want. Hahaha. Anyhoo, let's see what we have today!

Whoa, Time Flies!

Whether we're having fun, time really does fly around here. You'd think that staying home all the time would lead to lots of extra time, but we manage to fill it up quite easily with the things we do. First of all, there's a lot to do to take care of all the critters and give them the attention they need. The spare time I do have, I tend to use to read all sorts of things online, including a whole LOT of blogs. Because I can't just sit and read all day, I hardly ever have time to comment on all the great blogs out there, and that bums me out. I mean, everybody likes comments on their blog, and they'd probably like to know that one more person likes what they have to say. Anyway, I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, because I'm not, just saying that we keep extra busy even without working outside the home. So, how about I get to it, and show off some more NOTD pictures.
