Friday Flashback - Halloween!

Like I said earlier, I'm sharing some past Halloween manicures with you today. As you can probably guess, there is lots of black and orange in today's post. Hee. Anyway, I'd better get this thing going, and then get to work on my chores. We really would like to get the new floors down before the end of the year, but the likelihood is that it will be sometime next spring before it happens. Hopefully not longer than that. So yeah, let's take a look.

Oh, Hi There!

I'm back, and I have late Halloween pictures to share. Just my nails, not like costumes or anything. Heheh. Anyway, I only did a couple of Halloween manicures, because of everything going on lately around here. Nothing big, just been busy and so on. So, while I'm sitting here watching the election results, I thought I'd get this post in. Let's jump in and take a peek. that Obama has spoken, maybe I can try to get some sleep.

Friday Flashback

Well, since I shared my 4th of July manicure from this summer with you yesterday, what better time to do a Friday Flashback of past 4th of July manis? I've only got a couple pics on hand, but hey, that's okay. It's FRIDAY and the weekend is near, and it's time to go out and DO something, even if it's wrong. Not wrong as in illegal or immoral, but whatever. *giggles* Let's take a peek.

Holidaze... 4th of July in September!

I know, I know, it's way late, but I'm still playing a lot of catch-up from being gone so long. So anyway, over the 4th of July, I didn't have as much time to do a lot of celebratory manis, but I did manage one that I loved.  Let's see how it turned out!

Friday Flashback!

Just to be different, I thought I'd go with a random holiday that has nothing to do with August or anything. Easter! I've done some pretty crazy Easter manis, and today I'll show you a couple of them. And I'd better hurry, because I totally want to go fishing and see if I can catch anything big this time.

I'm kinda having a crap day, so I thought I'd go get those holiday manicures and show them off, because that should help lift my spirits. Let's End The Year With Xmas Manis!

One last post for the year... this one containing a few Christmas manis that I snuck in between the challenge ones. I didn't go as overboard as I have in the past, mostly because it's been a super busy year this year, and I had to hurry some of these. But I enjoyed them anyway, and wanted to share them with you.

All I Got For Christmas...

Well, I say all, but it wasn't a ton of stuff. I can't sleep, so I thought I'd share my review of the Cult Nails base and top coats, which I used for the first time when I got Vicious from them back in September. I know, I know, I'm running way way behind on that, but as you may have noticed, life has been whompin' on me lately. It's all good though. I'm not gonna sit around and whine about the crud, I'm going to enjoy the wonderful good stuff. Let's jump in!

HAPPY HAPPY HOLIDAY!

Real quick-like I'm dropping in to post my challenge mani, and to tell you all that I hope you are having an extremely happy holiday, whatever you celebrate. And if you're not celebrating anything, then I hope you're having a wonderful day.

Something IMPORTANT!

Before I share my pictures for today (I'm up to Halloween - see what happens when you go missing for a while?), I've got something more serious to discuss/show you. It's about bullying. It's been in the news more and more, and it can happen to ANYbody. Over at Band Back Together, there is an Anti-Bullying Rally going on, and there are a LOT of stories being posted about experiences with bullies. If you are or have been bullied, are or have been a bully, or somebody you care about has been affected by bullying, stop on over and take a look around. The Band is taking a Stand and saying NO MORE.

And now, I'll shift back to nail polish, for those of you who only want to see that. As I said, I'm all the way up to Halloween (over a month late, go me! haha), and this year I didn't go all out as I have in the past. But I managed a few designs in amongst the regular polishing, so I'll share them now.

Holiday Manis Over The 4th!

So I wore a few days' worth of Independence Day manis, and collected them all to show at once. And it's even fairly close to the holiday! Shocker, right? I just kind of set out a couple each of reds, whites, and blues, and used those over and over. I didn't want to take up a lot of time choosing polishes, there was fun to be had! The polishes I used at one point or another are these: Eyeko Cosmic, Ruby Kisses Regaled Out Blue, Sinful Snow Me White, Sally Girl mini white with no name, SH Reddy To Mingle, Lippmann My Old Flame, NYC Foiled Again, SH Diamond Prism, Icing Epic Winning, Ruby Kisses Blinged Out, Claire's I<3 USA, and Pure Ice Jet Setter, Show Stopper and Flash. The plain old glitter was some dollar store purchase. So there you have it, the colors I wore for a few days in a row. Now let's get to the pictures, after all, what fun is talking about them if you can't see them?

Finally, Holiday Pictures!

I guess it's time for me to get my butt in gear and post the pictures from our lovely holiday dinner for two. We had a pretty low-key holiday, and it was wonderful in it's own way. I'd have gotten this up earlier, but I seem to have been struck with some kind of stomach bug and am feeling pretty rough. So take the leap, and check things out. There are LOTS of pictures to see.

Holiday NOTDs!

Happy Holidays, in whatever form you celebrate! Or, if you don't, then, uh, Happy Sunday! We had a lovely day here, just the two of us. We opened one present each on Christmas Eve, and the rest when we got up in the morning. I tried to convince him to open them about 3 am, but he wanted to prolong my agony. Hee! After playing around and checking all our neat stuff out, we crawled back into bed for a nap before fixing up our meal. And wow, what a meal! We had: turkey, ham, stuffing, potatoes and two kinds of gravy, real cranberries and cranberry jelly, green beans, corn, rolls, pumpkin bread, green bean casserole, three different sweet potato casseroles, eggnog, and cherry wine from a local winery. And we didn't even get to the dessert - pumpkin pie and pecan pie. We have a LOT of leftovers, so I'll probably have to freeze some, because we'll never eat it all!

I think the best part of everything was the plain old enjoyment. It was wonderful not to have to do all the cooking, and I suspect we'll be doing the Bob Evans Farmhouse Feast again in the future. For the money we spent, we would never have been able to cook so much food, and the time saved was amazing. We were able to relax, enjoy having dinner together by the light of the tree and our candles, and appreciate just how lucky we are.  I won't lie, I do miss the huge family dinners of my childhood, but this wasn't a disappointment in any way. After putting everything away, we came back in, The Mate laid down for a nap (it's hard on him to be up and about too much), and I popped over here to read my email and upload our pictures. I'll have a post with those in a day or two. For today, let's take a peek at the manicures I did leading up to the holiday.
