Oooh, Like, A Whole Month!

So we've come to day 30 of the challenge, a mani inspired by a tutorial. Well, one of the ones I've liked best is this one over at the Indian Makeup & Beauty Blog. This Geometric Nail Art Tutorial is reasonably simple (anybody can do it!), and gorgeous. So why don't we take a peek at how I did?

Holiday Manis Over The 4th!

So I wore a few days' worth of Independence Day manis, and collected them all to show at once. And it's even fairly close to the holiday! Shocker, right? I just kind of set out a couple each of reds, whites, and blues, and used those over and over. I didn't want to take up a lot of time choosing polishes, there was fun to be had! The polishes I used at one point or another are these: Eyeko Cosmic, Ruby Kisses Regaled Out Blue, Sinful Snow Me White, Sally Girl mini white with no name, SH Reddy To Mingle, Lippmann My Old Flame, NYC Foiled Again, SH Diamond Prism, Icing Epic Winning, Ruby Kisses Blinged Out, Claire's I<3 USA, and Pure Ice Jet Setter, Show Stopper and Flash. The plain old glitter was some dollar store purchase. So there you have it, the colors I wore for a few days in a row. Now let's get to the pictures, after all, what fun is talking about them if you can't see them?

I Said I Wasn't Gonna.

How many times do we say we will do something, or will not, and later do the opposite? Well, I'm just as much a victim of that as anybody, and today proves it. I said I wasn't going to get a Twitter, and I wasn't going to Tweet, and it was all just so dumb... and so, I joined Twitter today. I'll put something up on the sidebar about it at some point. It's a totally unexpected name, even... OriginalWacky. Hahaha. I doubt I'll be super active, but hey, you never know.

I've got a few NOTD pictures to share, and then I think I'll try to post my review of the Viva La Nails stuff I got. Or at least what I've used, I haven't used all of it yet. I think I have a short attention span when it comes to nail art, but not too short. I just bounce around from one type to another, as the mood strikes. Oh, and I have a transport tomorrow, so hopefully I'll get pictures of that up early. Oooh, and my cholesterol is down quite a bit, so we might be able to get me started on some psoriasis medication! It hasn't been a bad day around here. So, let's enjoy just a few pictures.

Ooh Look, Some Swatches!

I know, I know, it's about time, right? Yeah, I've been super busy with everything here. A couple random things that you may or may not care about:

Missy was in to the vet today because of her behavior changes recently. We did find hookworms, so all the critters are getting wormed. We're hoping that pain from that is what is causing her to be a snot, but if it isn't, I've also sent her blood into Hemolife for a full thyroid screen and other bloodwork. Thyroid issues are one of the first things to rule out in unexpected random aggression, and this would qualify as that. Luckily, she hasn't gotten truly mean or anything, just growly and cranky. And only with the dogs, which helps too.

The other thing is that with autumn coming on, and taking us to winter, we get more sore, and less sociable than we already are. Sometimes this leads to me having more time online, and others it takes away, as I struggle to get things done, and keep The Mate from falling any further into depression as his ability to get around is curtailed even more. So, if my posts get more scarce, that's why... and if I suddenly get logomania, that is explained as well.

Anyway, let's get to the swatches, so that you can see some color. I've got a pink collection from Claire's, and some of the fall Maybellines.

Dark Blue Swatches

I've got a whole BUNCH of blue swatches for you, so I'll start with the darker ones tonight. I've done these the same way I always do, starting with one coat on the pinkies, and adding coats up to four on the index finger. The sheer colors I also swatch over black on my thumb and take a close-up. I don't use base or top coat, and the pictures are taken with my OTT light. Okay, let's see what we have!

Peeeenk!

Pink is my second go-to color for my toes. Again, though, I don't tend to choose it as much for my tips. It's not that I don't like it, I just gravitate towards the other colors first. Let's see what we've got.

Red is the color of loooove.

Or something like that. Strangely enough, as much as I love red, it isn't a color I tend to jump on for my tips on a regular basis. But it's usually a go-to color for my toes. Let's see what I swatched.

Teal The Next Time.

I admit it, I sometimes like to be punny. And not just the really good ones, I like the groaners too. I will fully admit that I have a wacky sense of humor. Anyway, let's look at polish some more.

More greeeeen!

Yum, sandwich. And some raspberries. I love raspberries so much. If I ever manage to get our back yard redone, I'm going to put in raspberry bushes. But this post is for polish again. So let's get to them.

More yellow swatches.

In this post, we'll look at some lighters yellows, and yellowy greens. Again, refer to the last post if you want to know my method of swatching and so on. And I'll stick with just listing the names and not boring you to tears with inane commentary.

A few greens to start off May.

I'm getting all behind again, and have a bunch of doggy pictures to edit as well. But I thought I'd throw a few pretty manicures at you to tide you over while I get other stuff done. I've been super duper busy trying to work with the dogs so they'll get along well, and trying to get the house ready, because I'll have some extra special people here very soon! (Yes, I mean my kids!) So, here's some pictures to look at, and I'm going to get in bed, because getting up at 6AM means I'm tired a lot lately.

April Showers Bring May Flowers. Or Not.

Since I'm still up after some impromptu training sessions with the dogs, I'll share the rest of April's pictures, and then I'm nearly caught up. Although I went on a swatching fest, so I'll have a LOT of pictures to share. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's just stick to looking at these for now.

Ahaha, I'm so punny. Okay, not really, but I'm over tired and I get a bit on the silly side then. So here is the rest of the March manicures. Then I'm going to go run the dogs for a bit and get moving so I'm on time for my transport. I mention that a lot, I guess because it's on my mind. I really do enjoy it a lot, and it's a really fulfilling thing when we do hear about an animal that we've helped finding itself in a great home. In fact, I just got some pictures recently of one of the cats we helped transport, and he is getting spoiled silly. I'm so happy he is living the high life now. Anyway, let's get to the polish.

March of the Manicures, or something.

I'm totally on a roll, so I'm going to catch up some more before I leave on my transport for the day. Hopefully I will have good pictures of dogs to share later tonight. Or maybe tomorrow, as I get busy when I get home, catching up with the chores I haven't done yet.

I've said a few times that I'd like to catch up so I'm showing off current manicures, so I'm going to start with this year's pictures until I catch up with myself. I'm only driving one transport this weekend, but I might be keeping a few dogs overnight on their trip, we'll see what happens. My Mother's Day will be wonderful, I'll relax most of the day, then take some Grayson kitties up to rescue. So, let's take a peek at my first several manicures of 2010.

Light and Bright.

Sometimes I get on a kick for a certain type of polish, and will do several similar manicures in a row. Other times I'll just grab a polish at random and just go to town. I love it when I have somebody who is willing to suggest a certain color or design idea, and I can base my manicure off of that. Today I'm sharing lighter colors, which can be a problem for me, since they are often not as opaque as I'd like.

Blue is one of my top three colors for my nails, so today I'm sharing some of my blue manicures with you.
