Flashback!

This is going to be a short post, since I don't have a ton of pictures. That's because I wasn't as insane about polish back in the day. Riiiight. So I've got a bunch of pink and red comparisons to share with you. And I'd better hurry, I've got chores to get done! Here we go!

Fast Friday Flashback

I've got a real quick Flashback today, some comparison pictures. When I first started getting really into nail polish, I wanted to collect some of the rarer polishes, and I did manage to get some pretty neat ones. Two that I really wanted are China Glaze Wet Velvet and OPI Real Teal. Once I had them, I saw how similar they are, and made comparisons. Today I'll show you those pictures.

Old School Swatches

So today for Sunday Swatches, I thought I'd show you some of the 'Old School' swatches I've done. My nails were extra short, I didn't have a clue about lighting (well, maybe a clue, but not much of one!), and I hadn't started doing a different number of coats to show coverage yet. But I'll still share these pictures, because it's kinda fun to see how far I've come.

Saturday Shatterday!

Wow, so I'm sort of starting to get back into the swing of things around here. Still, I'd rather have the kids here all the time and never have online time if it were a choice. So anyway, I saved a couple of my Black Shatter NOTDs to share with you today, I think I'll make Shatterday kind of it's own day, like once or twice a month. I'm so totally NOT over the whole crackle thing, so if you are, you can feel free to skip these posts.

Think Pink!

I don't have a pink that I'm wearing now, as I was too wiped out to do my nails. So I'll share some previous manis with pink that I've done. After all, I've worn my share of pink polish! Muahaha! I'll get right to it, instead of babbling like an idiot.

Wine Tasting Tonight!

Before I head off to our Wine On The Lake event this evening, I thought I'd post a few more NOTDs for you to enjoy. Fun fact, I got good and sick during that week, and left my nails the same color for way way longer than I usually do. Which turned it into a bit of a challenge to see just how long I could leave them. So I am including pictures of that too. Let's get right to it.

Whoa, Hi There!

I am alive! I really didn't mean to leave this poor blog so alone, but we seem to have caught one of those horribly nasty colds, and between that and the Jeep being down for the count, I just haven't been able to sit at the computer for long. Let's put it this way, there were several days that I didn't even touch my nails, let alone do a full mani, and that's just unheard of for me. So, now that I'm getting better, it's time to play catchup. Let's get right to it, and see what I did for my 'week' of OPI!

Swatchity Fun!

Okay, finally I am getting these posted. And maybe soon I can have another huge swatchfest, because I have tons of polish to share! I'll admit it, I bought some more today as well. But I can use the excuse that I deserve a reward for getting my cholesterol down, WAY down over what it was. Anyway, let's take a peek at what I've got to show you today.

Argh! Can't Sleep. More Blue Swatches.

Well, since I can't sleep, I guess I'll share the next set of blue swatches. These would be the medium blues. I'll shut up and get to the pictures now.

Pink is my second go-to color for my toes. Again, though, I don't tend to choose it as much for my tips. It's not that I don't like it, I just gravitate towards the other colors first. Let's see what we've got.

Red is the color of loooove.

Or something like that. Strangely enough, as much as I love red, it isn't a color I tend to jump on for my tips on a regular basis. But it's usually a go-to color for my toes. Let's see what I swatched.

A Little Catch-Up

It's been a whole week since I posted anything at all. So I thought I'd throw some nail polish pictures up here while I upload the transport pictures I have. Between keeping the dogs apart to avoid damage (not going as well as expected), trying to do spring cleaning (also not going as well as expected), and my body and skin not cooperating... I'm just keeping my head above water. But, all in all, I'd still say my life is pretty good. And last night I did my toes in Cherry Pop, and my nails in Lemon Drops. So let's take a peek at the first half of April after the jump.

Ahaha, I'm so punny. Okay, not really, but I'm over tired and I get a bit on the silly side then. So here is the rest of the March manicures. Then I'm going to go run the dogs for a bit and get moving so I'm on time for my transport. I mention that a lot, I guess because it's on my mind. I really do enjoy it a lot, and it's a really fulfilling thing when we do hear about an animal that we've helped finding itself in a great home. In fact, I just got some pictures recently of one of the cats we helped transport, and he is getting spoiled silly. I'm so happy he is living the high life now. Anyway, let's get to the polish.

As I've said before, I don't tend to wear the colors in these shades as often as others, so I'm combining them into one post... well, I guess this is two posts now. Anyway, I hope you enjoy these. I should totally be in bed asleep, but I wore myself out on chores because I was in high gear, and am still all wired up.

Onions have layers!

But this post is not about onions. It's about nail polish. I love layering different colors for different effects, and that's what I'm going to share with you today. So without further ado, these are some layering combinations.

Nail Polish; or My Pretty Nails

Anybody who gets to know me will find that I'm quite enamored of nail polish, and am willing to spend time nearly every day painting my nails, and making them look pretty. It's an indulgence that I wouldn't want to give up, as it's one thing that can look pretty, no matter how cruddy I look otherwise. My psoriasis is not attractive (yeah, duh), and affects everything. Because my skin is so sensitive, I have trouble with makeup. Because my scalp has so many spots, I have to try to cover bald patches, and my hair doesn't exactly style easily. Because it hurts to even move so often, I'm overweight, so fashion isn't really doable for the most part. But my nails, they can be pretty with just a little effort.
