Where Does The Time Go?

So when I woke up today, it was just another day. But then I looked at the calendar, and realized what day it was! Today is two years since I started this blog! That sounds like reason for a party or something.

So, even though I've been very very absent, this is still a pretty special day, and I had to make a post to say something about it. I should be able to get back to blogging within a week, maaaaaybe two, and I'll probably have a giveaway once I am back in the swing of things. I have been doing my nails still, so there will be plenty of pictures to enjoy before long as well.

For now, I'm going to crack a bottle of wine, toast my blog and the wonderful readers that have stuck with me all this time, and probably fall asleep before I finish the glass. Hee.

Why I...

This is a nice writing prompt that I thought I'd try out. The idea is from SarahBee at MyOwnBeeswax. The premise is to finish the following thought: "Why I...". So it didn't take me long to think about a few things I could finish it with, and that leads us to the following post. But to make it fun, I'll include some polishes I haven't shown you yet. Let's jump right on in!

Bloggers Speak Out

I'm certain by now that most anybody who reads nail blogs has seen the article from Nails Magazine about bloggers, and the fauxpology that was printed after bloggers spoke up about it. I was rather shocked in general, and couldn't really formulate a response. However, there are 9 bloggers out there (that I found) who did, and far more eloquently than I ever could. I think it's important that we consider what they've said, and realize that bloggers and professionals can certainly coexist side by side.

Ever Wanted To Say You're With The Band?

Well, if you do, then you can. See, I am with The Band. Band Back Together, that is. And today is the first birthday of that lovely place. There is so much awesome about the band that I can't even begin to describe it. And because I want to fling glitter everywhere when I think of the band, I did a most glitterific mani to celebrate it.

I'll have better pictures later, but even that is not enough glitter to express the awesomeness of BB2G. To be a part of it is one of the best things I've ever done, and I'm pretty proud of it. But I'm even more proud of all the other band members.

(I will be back to regular blogging before too long, but I'm not going to make any excuses or anything for being gone so long. Let's just say I got really busy and call it good.)

OMG I HAVE A BLOG AWARD!

I'm so so excited to share this news with you! I'm so hyped up that I had to run right over and post, even though I was actually busy playing with the dogs now that it's cooled down enough to be outside for more than 3 minutes without suffering from heat stroke. And yes, I play with the dogs outside at night the most. In the dark. Cuz that's how I roll. So anyway, check this out, how can you NOT be way impressed at this award?

Ch-ch-ch-changes. (And a Giveaway and a Manicure)

As you may have noticed (if you're not reading in a reader), I've been doing some more changing around here, and I'll probably do even more as I go along. I welcome constructive criticism (and compliments too!) or ideas on how to improve things. I've changed my feed settings so that you can read the whole post in a reader, because I don't want to make people click to my blog if they don't want to. I'm not blogging for numbers or whatnot, just because I love polish, so it doesn't matter. It would be nice if I could do nothing but work on the blog all day, but that's not happening any time soon. Those darn chores never do themselves!

A Little Day Brightener For Me!

Smita over at My Nailz tagged me with this, so I thought I'd better get a post up sometimes in the same month! Haha.

So, the rules are:

I'll start with tagging... by which I mean I am going to leave it open, because I have NO idea which ten people to tag! But I would really love to see links to posts with this tag in it so that I can learn more about others. Stuff like this is just plain fun. And now, on to the ten facts.

1. In addition to loving nail polish, I'm also obsessed with office products, like pens and papers and so on. And I'm also addicted to power tools. Staples and Home Depot are like toy stores for me!
2. I love mowing the lawn, and would rather do that over most any chores in the house. Except maybe laundry, for some reason I really like folding clothes.
3. I've broken my nose twice!
4. I've never met my BFF in person, but it doesn't matter to me. Almost everybody I know is somebody I've met online. 
5. My favorite movie is Mamma Mia.
6. I lived in Costa Rica for nearly four years when I was young, and can still speak Spanish fluently. The reason I lived there is that I was kidnapped by my Dad after my parents divorced.
7. I competed in a statewide beauty pageant in high school. I didn't win. Haha.
8. I have a tendency to buy a lot of candy, and then stash it to keep. If there is ever a candy famine, I'll be safe with my stash. 
9. I got an airbrush and compressor for Mother's Day, but I promised myself not to break it open until I get a couple other things done, and so I have been driving myself to work on those things way harder so I can start playing with it!
10. I adore counted cross stitching, and if it were feasible to make a living at it, I would probably go for it. However I can't sew, knit, or crochet worth a darn.

Quick Prize Post... Or, I WON!!!

You've Got Nail was running a contest last month, and I managed to be the international winner! All that was required was to tell the ladies from piCture pOlish why piCture pOlish lacquers would make your manicure picture perfect. Well, I guess I done good, because they chose my entry out of a bunch! Check out what I got in the mail!!! And I added my entry on there too. I thought it would be fun to use as many of their polish names as I could, and I guess they liked it. 

Now, I know, I've said before I'm not a pink gal, but I think I'm sort of converting. Not that I'm going to give up my flashy colors, but right now I am really REALLY glad that I chose Flirt. You see, the formula is frikkin' PERFECT, and this is a one coater. ONE coat for a pink? That's unpossible! Well, no, it isn't. If they all go on as well as this one, then piCture pOlish is going to turn into a Go-To lacquer for me! And hey, they didn't even pay me to say that. Disclaimer time - nobody could possibly pay me enough to be enthused over their product if I'm not enthused. In this case, I am enthused. A lot.
